RSSMate is a free RSS and Podcast reader, designed for maximum simplicity and compactness. Once loaded, an RSS icon will be displayed in the notification area of the Windows taskbar. This icon will be green when there aren’t any unread channel items, but it’ll change to red whenever new or modified items appear. Double clicking this icon will restore RSSMate so items can be reviewed.

Items which contain Podcast audio or video links will also display a paper clip icon. Clicking this icon will download and play the linked audio or video file.
