CryptoPics (also known as Nonograms, Griddlers, CrossPix, Pic-A-Pix, etc.) are a type of logic puzzle from Japan. The idea is to use the number clues to reveal a hidden picture. A completed one is shown below.
The CryptoPics software allows you to play, edit and create puzzles like this one, of sizes up to 99 x 99 squares. It includes a full tutorial and a variety of pre-made puzzles. There's also an on-line library of puzzles available, where you can get more puzzles to play or post your own creations!
